Overview

VEXPO needed to prove that a professional summit could still feel interactive and commercially useful when the audience could not gather in person.

[VEXPO](https://vexpo.center/) was built to bridge real-world exhibitions with immersive digital environments. The specific engagement centered on the 3rd Annual Medical Device Virtual Summit and Trade Show, where the challenge was to recreate business interaction in a remote format during the pandemic.

NDA helped shape that experience through web development, immersive environments, and integrated live-communication tooling. The work fits alongside other remote-experience projects, but with a more explicit B2B and conference orientation.

The Challenge

## Replicate the usefulness of a live trade show
_without relying on a physical venue._

Professional events are not only about watching presentations. People attend to browse booths, discover companies, talk in real time, and make business connections. Pandemic conditions made all of that harder.

VEXPO needed a virtual format that could preserve enough of that interaction to make the event worth attending. A flat webinar experience would not be enough for a summit built around discovery and networking.

The Approach

## Use WebVR, 3D booths, and live tools
_to make the event feel navigable and active._

Innovation supported the event with web development, WebVR integration for immersive experiences, and Zoom API integration for webinars and real-time communication. The team also created interactive 3D stands so participants could move through a more exhibition-like environment instead of consuming the event as a static stream.

That mix of immersive navigation and live communication helped VEXPO offer something closer to a digital venue than a simple broadcast page.

Selected Deliverables

## The visuals show how the summit was translated
_into a space people could actually navigate._

- ![VEXPO virtual event stage](https://newdiscovery.agency/assets/case-media/vexpo/vexpo-stage.jpg)
The main event environment made the summit feel more like a destination than a static webinar page.
- ![VEXPO virtual event lobby](https://newdiscovery.agency/assets/case-media/vexpo/vexpo-lobby.jpg)
Lobby and navigation spaces helped users orient themselves and move through the event like attendees instead of passive viewers.

3D booth design preserved some of the discovery behavior that makes trade shows commercially useful.

Results & Impact

## A virtual summit experience that expanded access
_while preserving interaction and discovery._

3D

virtual booths

participants could move through a more event-like environment

WebVR

remote access

the summit became accessible beyond the limits of a physical venue

Live

event interaction

real-time communications supported networking, sessions, and business exchange

VEXPO demonstrated that professional conferences could still create interaction, discovery, and commercial value when delivered through immersive tools rather than traditional event infrastructure.

Platform Video

## One video section only,
_because this is the primary moving-image proof._

This page uses a single video block on purpose. The video’s role is to show the navigable event environment, so it is not duplicated higher on the page.

## Related questions

What AI tools are healthcare organizations in El Paso and Juárez adopting?

Borderplex healthcare organizations are adopting AI in several categories: clinical documentation (ambient AI that listens to patient encounters and drafts notes), scheduling optimization (AI that predicts no-shows and optimizes appointment slots), EHR navigation assistance (AI that surfaces relevant patient data during encounters), revenue cycle automation (AI-assisted coding and billing), and administrative workflow automation (referral processing, prior authorization, supply chain). Tool procurement is accelerating faster than training programs are being designed to support adoption.

What does an AI consulting engagement with NDA actually look like?

It starts with an AI readiness assessment: current tooling, workflow analysis, data infrastructure, and team capability. From there, NDA designs an implementation roadmap scoped to the use cases with the highest ROI — typically starting with one or two workflows where AI can produce measurable improvement within 90 days. Implementation, integration, and training follow the roadmap on a defined cadence.

What does an AI consulting engagement produce?

A rigorous AI consulting engagement produces a specific, operational AI roadmap — not a presentation about AI trends. The deliverables include: a process-by-process assessment of what the organization is and is not ready to automate, a capability gap map identifying people and infrastructure gaps that block specific AI initiatives, a prioritized initiative list with rationale for sequencing, a 12–18 month action plan with owner assignments and measurable milestones, and governance recommendations for ongoing AI decision-making. Every finding connects to a recommendation, and every recommendation connects to a measurable outcome.

What is an AI readiness assessment?

An AI readiness assessment is a structured diagnostic that evaluates an organization's capacity to successfully adopt and use AI tools and systems. It examines four dimensions: people (current AI fluency, learning capacity, change tolerance), process (which workflows are structured and data-rich enough to support AI automation), data (quality, accessibility, and governance of the data AI systems will use), and technology (infrastructure compatibility with AI tools and integration requirements). The output is a readiness profile that shows where the organization is ready to move and where it is not.

What is the most important factor in AI tool evaluation?

Workflow fit is the most important factor. A tool with 40 features that does not integrate into how the team actually works will be abandoned. A tool with 10 features that fits seamlessly into existing workflows will be used consistently. Feature count comparisons are common in AI tool evaluations but largely irrelevant — the question is not what the tool can do but what the team will actually do with it, given how they currently work. One hour of workflow mapping with intended users is worth more than five hours of vendor demo time.

What is a CONOCER-certified AI training program?

CONOCER (Consejo Nacional de Normalización y Certificación de Competencias Laborales) is Mexico's federal authority for labor competency standards and certification. A CONOCER-certified AI program meets defined competency standards, uses a structured assessment methodology, and produces certifications recognized by Mexico's education and labor systems — not just a certificate of attendance.
