Technology HUB opened its 2024 HUBtalks series on Thursday, June 27, at half past six in the evening, in its Salón Steve Jobs, with Liz Pasillas on marketing and artificial intelligence.
The first part was the argument. Marketing has been reorganised twice already — mass production gave it a product to sell, the internet gave it a channel — and AI is the third turn, not a new tool bolted onto the second. She ran the marketing funnel against it stage by stage (attract, convert, close, delight), put the ChatGPT adoption curve next to Netflix's to show what the speed of it actually looks like, and explained search generative experience and prompt engineering as the two things a business owner has to understand before any of it pays.
The rest of the session was hands on. The room opened OpenAI, Canva and Google Drive accounts, then built a blog post end to end — researching the topic, structuring it, drafting the sections, making the image — and then a full week of social content: pillars, a schedule, copy and visuals. Each exercise ended with the room reading each other's work. It closed on a live CRM demo, automating lead capture from a web form, the welcome message and the follow-up, and then questions.
She had given a HUBtalk at the same venue five years earlier, when the subject was immersive technology rather than AI. In between, the company's work moved from immersive production toward the AI systems it builds now, and two weeks after this talk it won The Bridge Accelerator's grand prize. The teaching format became the AI Fluency programme.
