Work by Jonalex Herrera and Liz Pasillas showed at the thirteenth Miami New Media Festival in November 2018, in a section given over to video art, robotics, new media and virtual reality.
The edition was built around the theme "Agua, patrimonio cultural y cambio climático", with exhibitions organised by Arts Connection Foundation and Concrete Space, Merca2 reported at the time. Univision Miami covered the same programme. In that curatorial section the pair's work sat alongside Nam June Paik, Robert Wilson, Rolando Peña and Stelarc.
Both outlets framed the festival around its public theme rather than around individual artists. The placement came before the Juárez and El Paso press cycle that later made the same work visible on the border.
By 2018 the work read as art and technology practice, not only commercial production.
The festival programme put the pair inside a wider exploration of interactive narrative, digital culture and immersive presentation. That is part of why the later work moves between branded storytelling, public culture and applied XR without reading as three different companies.
The festival is where the founders' names and the immersive work first appeared publicly together.
If the VoyageMIA profile carries the business origins, this is the creative context around them. From here the record moves into El Diario's report on the move to Juárez, into Ruta Norte and Juárez Aumentada, and into the industrial XR direction described later in En 15 La Entrevista.
